Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
Confidence, being good or bad, the drag-net; all images that I must have believed in, even somewhat. It's astonishing how noisy the mind really is, even when it seems to be whispering.
I feel tension when thought and sensation appear to be aspects of the same thing, and the tension becomes what "I ...

Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
1) There are is no separate anything that can be found occurring in any sense field or appearance to mind. Everything in my senses and all that appears to mind are compose of sense-mind and thought-mind. I can see this clearly. I can also see that sense mind and thought mind are also apparently ...

Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
The selfing continues but I see that it is selfing. All memories as they occur are a literal floating image and its like I can feel the life that they want to tell the story of, and I feel the corresponding tightening of some region in my body or mind. Even when the story absorbs my attention, I ...

Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
I feel alive, exposed, super real.
Its coming more easily and its not going away.
I've been letting things go and moving in new directions and its been easy.
A tremor comes in my energy and it feels kind of exciting to feel it move and to see the curious thoughts that come with it.

Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
So when attention jumps to a sensation I should also be open to any thoughts that are associated with it, so that thought is seen as thought and the sensation is seen as sensation.
"I" would be the dissonance that comes when the sensation and thoughts are mixed!
The same would apply with thoughts ...

Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
When beginning to answer, I felt something then thought said, "ok, have to answer very carefully." It was the same process as my previous post.
First a sensation in the chest area.
Then I notice a hard to describe sensation, like a buzzing energy that feels like effort in my head. Then I start to ...

Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
Actually, the seeking remains when trying to answer questions about myself.

I understand. Thank you Becca. After that last pointer, I can't find any problems or points of enquiry.

Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
Yes I can see the sensation without the story.
If not for the stories, the sensation would not be the least bit threatening.
I can move my attention directly into sensation, and even see thought as sensation.
It must be that I have lacked the confidence to stay there without believing the stories ...

Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
I have been getting a lot of these kinds of feelings, like I'm dying or that the things and people I love will not last forever. I considered them true, and they feel heart felt. It's an ache in my heart.
Behind that feeling I feel my fear of disappearing without having mattered.
It all feels quite ...

Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
Everything I do can be seen as a result of prior conditions. There's nowhere for anything to happen that is not somehow apart from the causal chain. It seems like the will to be in control moves into a private space where it can imagine itself as autonomous in whatever way it can believe, like ...

Re: I had been relying on habitualy naming of things in order to feel stable
There is a sort of anticipation of "who I am" to be revealed by the next thought, then the next, then the next...
It's kind of enthralling, like making a discovery or even a questing sensation.
But I can see that the thoughts are happening distinctly, and when I look closely at the thoughts and see ...
