I see what you're saying, but I notice it mostly after it happens, both for thoughts and for actions. At the moment it happens, I still feel like I'm the one doing it.
Then, thinking back, I realize that the thoughts come naturally, and that the actions also seem to arise spontaneously in response ...

Re: Sage
Hi Elad,
When I ignore thoughts without trying to eliminate them, I notice that they continue to arise, but they lose some of their power. It's as if, not receiving attention, they remain more on the surface and dissolve more quickly.
At first, there's a certain tendency to "follow" them anyway ...

Re: Sage
Hi Elad, sorry for the long delay in responding. I had a situation that needed my attention, and my research took a back seat for a while.
What is the evidence it is "knowledge" rather then just "belief" ?
There is no evidence that this is knowledge.. it's a belief.
Everytime you think you ...

Re: Sage
You call it a feeling. What does this feeling consist of in direct experience? Where is it located?
It is a thought, it is not localized, it is nothing traceable by the senses but it is not a verbal thought of the type "I am this, I am that", it is more of a knowledge but still a thought.
Re: Sage
Good. Do it some more. Can be same video, can be others. Re-read the instructions from last message. Write again. Try and be as precise as possible describing what happens, not thinking about it or evaluating it, just describing.
While listening to the audio, thoughts automatically come to mind ...

Hi Elad,
As I listened to the video, I mainly noticed the attempt to understand the content.
At times, there was even a bit of emotion as I identified with what was being said.
The experience was fairly ordinary: listening to the words, trying to understand, and experiencing some emotional ...

Re: Sage
Is that direct experience or belief?
Direct experience
Does thinking stop to exist if thoughts are not believed?
No, no, thoughts too, of course!
Any material on awakening in my language? I have no idea, never heard it. I think there are so many, serious and otherwise, I wouldn't know how to ...

Good evening dear Elad, I hope you are well!
just can't say that there is no self"
Right now - what is that which cannot say it?
Is it a sensation?
A contraction?
A location in the body?
It's a thought
Stay with that.
No arguing, this is not about intellectual conviction.
Only stay, look ...

Re: Sage
Great you are so clear about the tendency to be heady! Now look: Is that tendency "you"?
No, it's absolutely automatic.
Is there a "you" who is that or does that?
I'm not the one doing it, otherwise I definitely wouldn't do it
Or it is just what is, habit?
It is what it is but there is a ...
Re: Sage
We do not claim here that "presence/awareness" is not generated from the body OR that it is generated from the body. This is a philosopical discussion between idealism and materialism and such. We do not engage this philosopical discussion. We point directly that there is no separate self in ...
Re: Sage
I see that everything—the stories about myself, the frustration, the desire for liberation—is the product of thought. I see it, but at the same time I continue to believe the thought and hear it as my voice. I can't find a separate entity that affirms this; perhaps there isn't one, but I can't fully ...
Re: Sage
Good evening Elad, I'm trying to find a way to "look at presence" so I can answer you, but I don't know where to look beyond the mental content. It's not perceptible to the senses, am I missing something, or should I assume it's just a concept, a thought?
I'm getting really confused 😅

Re: Sage
If my existence is an illusion and I feel like I still exist, perhaps I've missed the point.
Re: Sage
Now once in a while, notice the observing/awareness itself. Does it have a doer, a self, that is doing it, or is awareness just there inherently as part of experience with no self that can make it happen or not happen?
I'm not the one "doing" awareness. I don't purposely observe.
It happens ...
