Ah, thanks Floris.
I was just thinking of PM-ing you to...thank you for your guidance and pointing.
Thank you, thank you, thank you :)
I felt very supported throughout the duration of the dialogue. It was a pleasure...

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was
there ever?
No, none found. 'Self', 'me', 'I' are mere words and letters which arise with certain feelings and sensations
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts ...

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
Hi Floris :)
some of the guides here would tell you that indeed there is nothing to seek, although my perspective is that there is more to explore and deeper to go.
I agree with your perspective... it seems delusional at this point to think that there is nothing to seek. While it's clear there ...

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
It seems to me that you already have the clarity that liberationunleashed offers. This clarity doesn't have to come as something flashy or will dissolve all your tendencies and sense of self or sense of separation, although for some degree sure it can.

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
And does seperation come into existence when the eyes open?
Yes
Are you expecting the sense of seperation to go?
Yes, you're right. I'm expecting this sense of separation to magically fall away upon opening my eyes
If so, the sense of seperation is proportional to the amount of ...

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
Yes so when the eyes are closed and there are only sensations and no body. Is there an inside and outside? Or perhaps the concept of inside is conceptualized by drawing an imaginary line around the sensations, and call it body and inside? Imagine the sensations gone, what is there of an inside and ...

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
Hi Floris,
Thanks for another set of pointers to explore!
Been a busy day today, and feel a little tired. I'll do the looking again from tomorrow :)
Warmly,
Ashwin

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
Hey Floris :)
So this (sense of separation) seems to be the main sticking point for now, right?
Yes, you're right
To do the list of exercises you suggested, I went eyes closed and disregarded all prior mental images and thoughts about the body.
Here's what I found - I couldn't find a body ...

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
thats good. Let's bring the focus back to our goal.
Appreciate it, Floris. Felt like I was starting to drift a bit there...Good catch :) Thanks for bringing back some focus

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
Hi Floris,
yes I know where you talk about, that's normal. A lot of people can stop performing certain activities and behaviors. It's a recontextualization that occurs and finding a new stability in life can either be a bit rough or a relief.
Didn't inquire much today. What I've been doing ...

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
Hi Floris,
Felt like sharing what's been happening in the last 4-5 days. It feels like there's again a sudden loss of interest and motivation in most things, but emotionally things are pretty light (unlike previous episodes where the emotions tended to be heavy and dense). If at all I'm interested ...

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
Hi Floris :)
Thanks :) Tried the looking this time with the instructions from both the paragraphs you'd quoted
When my eyes were closed, it was def possible to not see body parts as body parts. Instead, there was merely empty space replacing the body.
It seems a bit little a magic trick to see ...

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
Hi Floris,
Thanks for the detailed set of pointers! I'm currently exploring the first one you've presented - working with the idea/possibility that there is no me, no body and no inside.
I'll write to you again tomo, sharing what's found
Warmly, Ashwin

Re: Request a guide to explore no-self
Hi Floris :)
Yes, so is it accurate to say that the personhood is more of a constructed thing? And if so, who created it?
Yes, it would be
The person likely created themselves, through use of language. Words like 'I', 'me', 'mine' etc can take a life on their own, as I'm discovering, without ...
