ok, i'll post one more time, but i'm not very interested in convincing you of what i have or haven't achieved, or forcing you to do anything you don't want to. i'm just leaving you this opportunity to examine what else is possible, how else one can optimize this human experience.
Well if you think ...

i could be full of crap, but what if im not?
I'm copying this from my concluding post in my one on one thread. i mean no disrespect, i'm just suggesting some things, take it or leave it. what harm could it do to just sincerely investigate this? i can think of a lot of suffering that could come if you don't. so, with this i end my posting with ...

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
alright, i think i've already "crossed the gate" prior to this interaction. what separates me from other gate-crossers is that, although i see that suffering is not self (just sensations occuring of their own accord) i differ in my approach to that suffering. i think you guys have taken the feel it ...

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
ah a little addendum to what i just said. when i am paying attention, there is still this feeling of being, and other sensations which tell the mind that "i" exist, but they don't cause a problem in the sense that they do not sway whether i actually think i exist.

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
By meeting suffering fully I mean also accepting it, just seeing what it's about without trying to remove suffering. I'm not sure about suffering but all other 'negative' emotions have a purpose. And if you just live them fully you see there's not much wrong about them.

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
i think i already know what it's about, my practice up till this direct pointing has been entirely based on observing this suffering from the perspective thatJust let it set in and see what suffering is about.
a. it is extinguishable
b. it is not-self

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
is there a you to suffer?
it isn't (and i don't perceive) that it is 'me' who is experiencing the suffering. it is simply that there is suffering present here, in this field of experience.
how do you want to eliminate suffering?
I'm not sure, when you say "how" are you asking about my wanting or ...

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
I suffer, defining suffering as any form of compulsion by unpleasant feeling, any sensation that could be said to be a disincentive not to ignore desire would be suffering.
what's wrong with suffering? well, i frankly can't tell you. there is nothing 'sine qua non' bad about suffering. but i ...

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
Done with direct pointing?
when i either realize that its final goal is something i've already achieved or i attain some big, noticeable change in my perception.
Done with this path of psychological stuff/no-self/spirituality?
when i no longer have suffering, i can expand on this if you'd like. but ...

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
ah, i shouldn't have phrased that last bit as i did, when i'm in the actual act of paying attention to the feeling there is not the illusion that "i" am paying attention to the feelings, there are just the feelings.

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
yes, when not "looking" the distribution and mode of attention shifts such that the feeling is more compelling. there isn't really such a thing as "not looking" whether you are making an effort to pay attention or not there is still something there in what is being experienced. when i make that ...

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
to clarify, i mean that when i look directly at the field of experience i stop focusing on them, naturally my attention rests on them and whatever other sensations I feel are important

Re: hi, i think i'm ready!
no, can't see the I, when i observe the thoughts they occur simply as sensations. the I doesn't look like anything because i can't see it. there is however a subtle message from certain sensations telling me at all times that "I" exist. when i stop trying to look at them my attention focuses on them ...
