You've already been blued! Welcome to the other side of the gate Peter!
I would like to suggest that you become a LU guide. I think you have what it takes and it would be a wonderful way to deepen your seeing of the illusion. You have the tendency to rely deeply on knowledge. Having clients ...

Re: Path or No Path
Weird, for some reason I didn't see the three.
4) What was the last bit that pushed you over; made you look?
Don't think there was one last bit, but just a series of examples. It may have been one or two of the exercises the first guide had me do. One was asking me to see if I can stop thought. I ...

Re: Path or No Path
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was
there ever?
No, only a thought that is illusory or conceptual.
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from
your own experience. Describe it fully ...

Can you say more? What did you gain from LU?
Quite a few takeaways:
Clarification and recognition of thought content vs thought
Clarification and recognition of direct experience vs second hand knowledge
Useful exercises to help one see direct experience
Got more in touch with direct sensory ...

Re: Path or No Path
If a separate self is an illusion to whom will this happen?
To the remnants of the illusion itself. I know what you're implying, it's like what they say about enlightenment, there's no one that gets enlightened. As it is often asked who or what is it that gets enlightened?
Is there something ...

Re: Path or No Path
Would you say you can see without a doubt that a self is an illusion?
Yes, I can see the illusion.
Do you have doubts? Does it feel that something is missing?
No I don't have any doubts but the process doesn't feel complete. I'll allude back to two of my earlier posts.

Re: Path or No Path
How does it feel to see this?
Please also share some examples from daily life.
Thoughts and feelings are perceived to come and go. Immediately as soon as waking, thoughts and feelings appear. Both thoughts and feelings lead to action to satisfy whatever discomfort of the body. This includes ...

Re: Path or No Path
What you've written before about this isn't a description of what is going on now, so it doesn't count. I hope my insistence isn't bothering you but I'm still not sure of how you know that a separate self is an illusion, in terms of your present experience!

Re: Path or No Path
I suppose then when you say you are struggling you are saying you don't understand how it works?
We could say the body has different tools that each lead to a specific experience: in a simplistic way we can say the eyes allow seeing, the ears allow hearing and so on.
You already know this, so why ...

Re: Path or No Path
If you read what you wrote, would you say you have described what is going on?
It depends. In the world of thoughts and communication, I'd stick to what I said. In the world without thoughts, it just is. But in our world, thoughts and languages exists. Anytime we try to "describe", it's ...

Re: Path or No Path
We did?
Yes, before we started talking about sensory faculties .
It seems to me that you are open to not knowing. This is about knowing too.
Yes that is okay, open to not knowing until known. =)
If you see it, you can describe it so that I can resonate with what is being seen.

Re: Path or No Path
By the way, how do I edit a post. I noticed grammatical errors and run-ons lol. I checked the FAQ, but I don't see an edit button.
I also noticed I mentioned "see the separate self to begin with", I meant illusory self.

Re: Path or No Path
So are you focusing in the unreliability of perception and also in the possibility that what can't be perceive now may be perceived later on to argue that a self can be real after all?
Just to add, many of these master's I quoted are champions of the notion that there's no separate self. So now ...

Re: Path or No Path
It's not as black and white as you put it.
Let's stick to the topic. We're discussing sensory faculty perception. We're not talking about the separate self nor are we talking about something make believe like Santa Claus. We've already established the separate self as not real so there's no point ...

Unless you use it as a drum stick :Dor a paint brush to produce music.
But you get my point.
