Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
Sorry about the late response. Doing some good looking at what the problem with decision making. Noticed there was no difficulty with spontaneous decisions eg. Which hand to move, what clothes to wear, etc.
It was the non-spontaneous decisions where thinking was involved was the problem ...

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
Here are the answers to your questions:
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
No separate self at all. Never has been, just a case mistaken identity.
2) Explain in detail, as best you can, in your own words, even ...

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
haha, that's the funniest thing I have read all day!
I’m glad I made you laugh!
Ok, so no real 'me' can be found but there's still an appetite to play at me, by taking the bodily feelings as 'me', right?
Since you put it that way, then yes, I suppose that’s what’s going on.
What ...

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
8. Is there doubt or unclarity that in all these cases the ‘self’ is nothing other than a mental fabrication?
9. Are there any doubts about seeing through the illusion of separate self?

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
Good that you noticed this expectation. I wonder if you can identify where it came from (eg some book, some teacher?), and any sensations associated with it? How could seeing ever be anywhere except in this moment? How could seeing ever be applied retrospectively? Can 'retrospective ...

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
If there has been a lifetime of a sense of me being inculcated, why would there sometimes not be an assumption of 'a separate individual' or an acting as though there were one?
I agree, I guess there was an expectation that once you see through the illusion of a self, you can’t unsee it ...

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
Look for another day at a few more examples, and see if the same thing holds. Can you notice how, when something emotional or slightly threatening happens, there is a tendency for the body to tighten up slightly (maybe the sense of animal threat, who knows?) and for an old, conditioned ...

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
This is could be rephrased as 'can a real 'me' be found in the bodily sensations (such as touch and interior sensations)?
No
So can you look for two examples of such a 'sense of me', AS IT ARISES, as opposed to 'in retrospect'.
a) Observe all the bodily sensations which come up ...

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
Please answer the following questions, and if there is a 'yes' to any of them, please report on the actual experience/sensation of 'me' there:-
1. Have you been able to find, a ‘self’ that is the ‘experiencer’?
Yes, see below.
2. Or a self that is 'the doer', or can control what ...

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
Just today had a good chunk of free time to work on the resistance and now I can’t seem to access it. It’s just gone! It’s so weird or good depending on the context. Hadn’t done anything or really thought about it as I’ve been busy at work and home.

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
I have tried to work on your questions and noticed a lot of resistance in doing so. I feel almost immobilized. So I did your “Looking into Resistance” exercise.
The (e) that I got was tightness in my chest and feeling of dread (putting a label on it)(e & t). I tried to accept and embrace ...

Re: I would love a guide to help me!
Hi Mark,
Thank you Mark for these questions. I think they will help sort out some conflicting perceptions/observations I have. I need to do some deep looking, so give me some time with these.
