Re: Nobody home
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
No there is no ”real” separate entity that could be called a self, only illusions and ideas, based on thoughts and (mainly) fear.
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate ...

Re: Nobody home
I'm not sure the mind created it, but it does seem to sustain and experience it, so Yes.Can you say with a big fat YES, it's clear, i, the separate self is a mind created illusion?

Re: Nobody home
Have a look if thoughts are driving body.
Sit on a sofa and make a hand move by thought. Make body go to the kitchen and get water.
Observe, as it happens, what comes first, an impulse, thought or action?
Are they independent or arise dependently on each other?

Re: Nobody home
You say no unity experiences. What is not a unity experience? I mean, where is the sensation of being separate? Find it, which sensation is clearly it? (you know, you can identify sensations like anger, joy, sadness, that kind of thing) the sense of separatedness is another sensation appearing in ...

Re: Nobody home
Yep, nothing happens, no one dies. Just beliefs drop.
Do you notice anything different in everyday life?
Woke up this morning and the amount of thoughts was noticeably less. The words don't seem to stick to anything much either. Then there was this "click" moment when fear of death suddenly ...

Re: Nobody home
You are doing great.
The source does not want to be identified, the leak does not want to be plugged. Like the Wizard of Oz, hiding behind a curtain and creating illusions, not wanting to be found out, because that destroys the illusion.
You say that illusion can get destroyed. Let's see. How ...

Re: Nobody home
:) what is doing thinking? Good question. Is there a thinker? How would you know? What informs about the presence of a thinker?
Thoughts appear, indicating that there is a source that they appear from. They do not appear from the mind, they appear in the mind, or rather, create the illusion of a ...

Re: Nobody home
Missed "Can a thought think?".
From this perspective a thought is just a string of sub-vocal words, so it reasonably can't do anything. Just like a string of words in a newspaper can't do anything. There's sometimes a stickiness that seems to "pull awareness in" and cause an identification with ...

Re: Nobody home
The brain pumps out thoughts like the heart pumps our blood.
uh, that is a big fat assumption. lets look closer.

where does the thought Brain come from?

Re: Nobody home
Some very focused looking there. Good work!
Fear of aloneness still assumes someone that is alone. But no one is here. Have a look.
No-one is there, it is empty. There’s no personality or entity hiding there, just an intense and somewhat painful vibration.
What has been controlling the brain ...

Re: Nobody home
Ok there's also this reoccurring thought/feeling that "I" can do something "wrong", like there needs to be a complete synchronization between the thinking or perceived intention and what happens. It's kind of like I am slightly outside reality (which is true perception wise) and trying to gently fit ...

Re: Nobody home
Great work, thank you.
Yes, it seems that there is something hiding, not wanting to be exposed. Have a look, what is there? What is that wants to be protected?
Several things want to be protected, at the *core* it seems to be the sense of ”me”, which is the source of separation.
There was also ...

Re: Nobody home
I feel I did not fully answer this one in the first post.
ok, can you find that feeling of separateness. is this something that is always here or comes and goes? is this sensation here now? can you look, what is separate from what exactly? can you find a line that separates ME from everything ...

Re: Nobody home
OMG, that was some hardcore experience. i'm very sorry to hear about your wife and how all evolved after. crazy stuff..
Yeah it is quite the absurd story and obviously created a huge bunch of trauma, which ”I” am still somewhat clinging to and trying to own.

Re: Nobody home
What happened:
There was an "awakening" where me and my wife entered some sort of mystical drug fueled "state" and suddenly started getting all kinds of insights, visions and stuff spontaneously. We were both atheists at the time and quite surprised, it was awesome. At the end I looked in a mirror ...
