Re: Seeking a Guide
Thanks Vivien :)
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
No, there was only thought labeled as "I, Me".
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience ...

Re: Seeking a Guide
Hey Vivien :)
Has it been clearly seen that there has never been an ‘I’ that could control or own life or anything?
Beyond any doubt.
Is there any chooser or decider of any kind?
No
Is there an 'I' of any kind whatsoever that could be responsible for anything at all?
Do others have ...

Kevin
When searched for, when the experience is had, be it touching, hearing, tasting, etc., the body is not experienced as being separate from the sensation. There is no body AND sensation. Just sensation.Look for the body that is the separate experiencer

Re: Seeking a Guide
Thanks Vivien :)
Here there is a suggestion that there is a subject (ear and the body) that is doing the hearing of a separate object (sound). Can you see this?
Yes.
This comment is NOT coming from the ACTUAL experience, it is just the ‘content’ of a thought. Can you see this?
Yes, I came to ...

Re: Seeking a Guide

But is this REALLY the case? Or only thoughts say so?
Only thoughts say there is a sound and a hearer.
So, how is it known exactly that the body hears?
If the ears are covered sound is lessened or not heard at all. The direction a sound comes from is also discernible by it's ...

Re: Seeking a Guide
Thanks Vivien :)
Please read through my comments several times and look where I’m trying to point at.
Time and Time again...and again. "See'er and Seen are not two".
So what the word ‘person’ refer to in this sentence? To the body?
"Person" would be just a word to convey what is seen.

Re: Seeking a Guide
Sorry, left some out...
WHAT is it EXACTLY that could or could not abide in presence?
I'm not sure I grasp this question. The sense of presence is not an "it", not a "thing". A thought label would be "life itself" has presence.
Is there ANYTHING outside of presence?
No. There is nothing outside ...

Hey Vivien,
What is the ACTUAL experience of an ABIDING presence? (Especially with the emphasis on the word ‘abiding’)
An absence of thought.

Re: Seeking a Guide
Hello Vivien :)
What is it that could or couldn’t be here and now?
I would have to say "Presence". There is a sense of abiding presence when not lost in thought, not lost in thinking. In getting lost in thinking it is easy for reality to go unnoticed, unexperienced. The person that walks into a ...

The brevity of my answers was based on the forum request to keep answers short. I am glad to hear I can include more.

Yes :) My mindfulness of the Now has increased greatly. I am more "Here, Now" than ever before. The ...
