Re: Looking for a Guide

Let's look at consciousness again. If it turns on and off, what is a dream?
Ok ... when dreaming, there is no consciousness, but still objects appear.
The objects appear even when conscious is not there.
If an object doesn't appear, then ther is no consciousness? If thay's the case, then how do we know there are two things there?
You mean, objects and consciousness? From the above examination of dream, the feeling now is that
consciousness is another label thought makes up to point to actually nothing, and there are just
'things' there and no actual something called consciousness. Things just disappear with sleep,
and appear with waking up; this feels an accurate way to describe it.

If objects are not separated from consciousness then how do you know consciousness exists instead of just objects?
Here again, conscious is another idea and doesn't exist in actuality. There are just 'things' there.

Aha, so 'consciousness' is more like the words 'justice' or 'love,' or other words that point
to abstract ideas. :)

Is that what was found? :)

It does have to be unshakably true, so if you have questions or need to look at it a bit more, just let me know.

If consciousness is indeed like the words 'justic' or 'love'... concepts, then where do you find that thoughts appear? Do they appear in a particular location? Within anything?
There is no "I" doing this inquiry. There is no "I" looking for the "I".

No, thoughts just appear, not in a particular location, nor within something.

Now it is clear that, it ISN'T that thoughts appear within consciousness.

Saying that thoughts appear within consciousness is totally absurd,
because a thought don't appear within another thought ... it just appears! :)

Thank you!

I think we're ready to have the other guides take a look, and we'll see whether they have any questions. Thanks so much for moving further along in inquiry. It'll go a long way toward understanding that when the "I" thought continues to appear, it's easy to take a look at whether they actually point to something. The steady fact of reality is what makes this such a certainty. It's not that the self never appears again, but that what it is, is very plain.

I shall be back! Thanks again!

You're very welcome. It looks like all is well and you will soon be "blued". This thread should remain here, however, for our continued dialogue. I will also send you a message with other ways to contact me.

Well done! It's been a pleasure and this is an amazing beginning!
