Experiencing no-self

Postby wroche64 » Sat Feb 23, 2019 5:48 pm

LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
My understanding based on non-duality is we are all one thing and the universe is experiencing itself through me.

What are you looking for at LU?
i want to awaken my universal conciousness and quit living a life driven by a false self. A teacher that can help me penetrate my monkey brain. i feel the truth in this quest and believe this search is being driven from within.

What do you expect from a guided conversation?
i would love to see and experience truth. i expect to be guided by someone who knows how to pierce my veil. the conversation from outside would allow ne to free my thinking mind which i belive is what is holding me back

What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
2 or 3 yeary of meditation and reading

In a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self? 10

Hi wroche,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for patience waiting for a guide.
We can have a conversation and see what gets revealed.
Can you tell me what are you looking for?
What do you expect to find?
How your life would change once the truth is seen?

Looking forward to our conversation.
Love.

IIona I did not realize you responded back in March. Are you still open to guide me?

My answers below.

Hi wroche,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for patience waiting for a guide.
We can have a conversation and see what gets revealed.
Can you tell me what are you looking for? To see that there is no-self
What do you expect to find? That there is no I and just thoughts.
How your life would change once the truth is seen? I will let go of my "steering wheel."

Thank you,

Will

Sure thing.
It’s been a while since you posted. Can you tell me freshly what are you looking for?

Ps you should be getting email notifications when o reply. If not, much check in daily. It’s the best if you write often, as much as you like.

Love.

Ilona thank you! I am now receiving email notification.

I am 2 weeks away from 65. I have always been a spiritual seeker but honestly just intellectually and philosophically.

I found Non-duality a few years ago and recognized the truth of living an illusion within my mind. I practice looking and inquiry most all of my waking day. I have yet to pierce the veil. I am making progress but I believe outside help is needed.

Nothing to change and everything to change. I expect to experience NOW and know that everything else is made up.

I have been looking and see that just about everything is filtered with a made up story attached. Remarkable that I have lived my life this way.

I don't know what this means other than continue to look and see what my thoughts constantly produce. I fear slipping from this.

What do you think?

There is a difference between what is actual and what is imagined. In this video I talk about mind screen, where all imagined things happen. https://youtu.be/_w0wnR72604
The answer is not found in the mind created images, but in reality.
Write to me, what you learned in your experience, where is the screen, and what is here without imagining. Do you see the difference?

Ilona loved your video. I do often wake up sad having had a sad mind movie. I will explore making the mind movie fun playing with the reality my character is fake. I never see myself in my dreams, I am a participant looking through my characters eyes. Recently I saw myself in a mirror in my mind movie and was horrified seeing an old withered up old man. Not sure that was good or bad, but have been focused on my mortality. My character thinks I am ageless.

I will report back to you.

Character does not think.
Look at this
Can a thought think?
Can an image think?
Can a sound think?
Can a colour think?

Is there a thinker?

What do you find?

Ilona thank you!

My belief in self is stubborn. I can confirm my thoughts and body are working without my intervention.

My character believes it thinks. I know that thoughts cannot think, but something can? What is doing the thinking? The thing that is seeking and answering your questions.

I am looking through out the day seeing that "now" is all there is yet not walking through the gate.

Accepting no self is difficult for me.

My dreams or mind movies have proven to be difficult to intervene. I find myself after the dream wishing I could be aware when I was dreaming and change the dream. I will keep pursuing.

Ilona I believe you can guide me through this.

I know that thoughts cannot think, but something can? What is doing the thinking? The thing that is seeking and answering your questions.
There is no thing. That’s the whole point. No thing that is thinking, feeling, doing, seeking, breathing, sitting, reading these words. There is simply thinking, feeling, seeking- happening by itself.
Look, there is no separate self at all and never was.
Allow this thought in and see how everything looks.
What is not happening on automatic?

Yes, it’s radical, unexpected and not at all what mind thinks.

So what is not happening on automatic?

Love.
