Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, By the way, I wanted to ask you how vipassana has helped you in your process? I have been currently just been going with "no" technique in meditation without use of mantras or breathing techniques. Before I would get mad at myself if I didn't make time in the morning to meditate, but now I...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, Thanks again for working with me. I am very glad that the universe brought in you to work with me. But hey, there's no free will anyway, so I guess this is how it was supposed to happen. I feel like I finally have my foot in the door, and now I have to work on embodying this realization. I...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin,

I sent an answer but I'm not sure if it went through.

Yes I now understand with confidence that the "I" or separate self is a mere story. It doesn't necessarily feel good and it probably doesn't have to, but I see that it is a story.

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin,

Yes I can say that Hashim is a story with confidence. It doesn't necessarily feel good that I can say that, but I can that.

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, This is just the nagging expectation part I had about this work - maybe that I would feel lighter or better or more clear about life. I understand fully that the expectation is useless in this work. I also know of people who have had awakening experiences and they actually feel nauseous fo...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, Thanks for the reply. From the bottom of my heart, I really appreciate you sticking in there with me, even though I threw out so many stories to you. I didn't know if I was making progress at all, and I'm still not sure how much progress I've made, but now there is a strong understanding t...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, Thanks for the reply! Tell me, since we've started this have you stopped caring? Have your actions become irresponsible because there is no conceptualized you? I wouldn't say I've stopped caring. As you say, I have not become irresponsible from it. Maybe even that is also a type of conditi...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look? The realization that the mind doesn't exist was probably a big one. By seeing that what I thought was the mind, is actually just a bunch of thoughts zipping through was a big revelation. I work as a translator for Japanese and Engl...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, Sorry for throwing out all my crap in the last email, but I guess it needed to get out. Actually, is the mind really a thing? Or is it a process? I understand it as a process. It's not a finite "thing". Thoughts come and go, and people call that process "the mind." Neither can I, please do...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, Cite me an instance where the mind isn't apparently doing this by weaving multiple thoughts into something else This is confusing me a little bit. I had finally come to an understanding that the mind doesn't exist. Thoughts come and go, but people label that as "the mind". But what people ...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, Just as data does not originate in a computer CPU, the brain processes the input it is given. (This is a summary of what you have already seen). Does this resonate as true to you? Yes this makes sense. But this still means that the brain adds some kind of meaning to the experiences that th...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi kevin, Yes that's true if the brain stops there will not be thoughts. But doesn't that mean that thoughts arise in the brain? I can see that there is no I having thoughts. I know that doing things like affirmations doesn't always work in changing thoughts. However there are times that it does. If...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, Can you tell me what you mean by “thoughts seem to be judgments towards what is being experienced?” I was trying to figure out on my own what thoughts are. When I looked into it, most thoughts seem to be some form of judgement. Given that, how is it possible that there is an I thinking and...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, With 'you' revealed as a thought story, what remains? There is a body, there are thoughts that come and go. That seems all that is left. There is just pure existence of everything. What experiences? There is no one experiencing. There is just experiencing happening. What thinks? There is n...

Re: Searching for a guide

Hi Kevin, Take two objects/possibilities, of which you might ordinarily choose either e.g. coffee or tea, blue pen or black pen, salt and pepper, then sit and see if you can find the choice-point where you could go either way. Describe how choosing happens. I tried this when choosing a TV program to...
